Penny House, Mu Fish, Aurora and Ariel, Sosic Shop, Cutie Creator, and More: Taobao Stores Review

Hello! I'm back with another Taobao haul and review, this time with lots of things for winter outfits. Once again I used Spree Now as my shopping service and everything went smoothly. You can read my review of them here. Store links are included and if you have any questions that I didn't answer feel free to leave them in the comments below!

Aurora and Ariel - Petticoat
This petticoat is an absolute poof monster and it's wonderful. Right when I took it out of the packaging it immediately poofed up to a level that is right on par with my Angelic Pretty petticoat back in its prime when it was new. It has a layer of cotton lining on the inside so the main material (organza) isn't scratching you when you wear it. The waistband is elastic, but I do have to say that I find it a bit tight. It should loosen up a bit after some wear. It's just the right length to fit under most dresses. I haven't tried to fit it under a skirt yet because I'm not sure it would until it deflates a bit. I've only had this for about a month or so, so I'm not sure yet how quick it will deflate. In a month it hasn't really budged much at all. This is an absolute 5 stars in my book, and at about 1/6 of the price of an AP petticoat I literally couldn't recommend this more if I tried.

Penny House - Blouse
The material wrinkles quite easily but it's very flowy and I would imagine that it would keep you cool in the spring. The lace is soft and not scratchy and the blouse does have some incredible details. All the pearl buttons, including the ones that secure the removable collar are tightly sewn on and I have no fear of them falling off which is nice. I want to play round with my other pieces and see what else I can pair the collar with. I'm a little disappointed because the color isn't quite what I was expecting though. It really only ended up matching 2 things in my wardrobe, so I'm contemplating selling it but haven't decided just yet.

Mu Fish - Tights and Otk's

Red Classic Otk's -They're long enough to go over my knees at 5'6" which is really nice! The print is vibrant and the material is soft.

Harlequin Otk's - I think I accidentally ordered navy instead of sax blue like I wanted, lol. But these are decent socks nonetheless. They're a reasonable length, and actually go over my knees. They do tend to wear out a bit easy when washed, as I found out with a previous pair.

Jellyfish Tights (not pictured) - These are a little short on me, but I was partially expecting that. The print is detailed and they are opaque which is a plus.

Stars and Stripes Tights - These are surprisingly long, and I really recommend them for taller girls! I have plenty of extra length in mine. They're also pretty soft too.

Sosic Shop - Shoes

Winter Boots - Sosic Shop continues to provide with more of their perfect shoes! These boots are a dream. Fleece lining on the inside that covers the feet and legs make wearing these in winter actually possible. The fur at the top is detachable so they can be worn two ways. They're comfy to walk in too. One of the hardest things to find for me is boots because my legs are so small that they're usually way too big at the openings and look so oversized on me. With the side zippers and front lacing I can actually make these small enough for me so they don't look too big.

Ruby Slippers - I was slightly terrified of these shedding glitter everywhere, but fortunately that is not the case! The glitter stays pretty in tact, and I've worn these out 3 times now. They have a lot of padding and can easily be worn all day long. Sosic Shop is my favorite place to buy shoes, and I think they're quality surpasses Bodyline all the way, especially in terms of comfort. I have a pair of plain pink shoes from them that have been stuck in some heavy rainstorms and they haven't started to show any signs of damage yet. I've also found that their shoes scuff less easily than Bodyline shoes too.

Cutie Creator - Bows
After buying some bows in my last haul from Cutie Creator and loving the quality, I decided to get a few more to fill out the accessory gaps in my wardrobe. They added these new velvet bows in addition to the grosgrain ribbon bows I got last time. These were actually a few dollars cheaper and I like the material and the hanging charm better. They are soft and comfy to wear. They sit perky and don't slide around easily, just like the ribbon versions. I think these look a little bit nicer too.

(Store Link) - Jewelry
The necklace is super detailed and arrived in the cutest packaging. I like that it's on a beaded chain and not a plain one, so it doesn't get lost in the dress you're wearing it with. The bracelet is perfect for mahou kei! I ordered 2, to be symmetrical but they sold out and I only got 1 + another bracelet that my SS picked out for me. They didn't message me about it, but the item was only around $1, so I'm not upset about it. The other bracelet doesn't really match anything in my lolita wardrobe, but it will go nicely with a few of my regular outfits.

Thank you for reading!

  1. Hi !

Thank you for this review...! I didn't know about most of these taobao brands. I'm glad I do now :p

It's too bad MuFish thighs were too short, they have so many cute ones on their site.... Since I'm the same height as you (172 cm) and also am probably bigger than you, this detail has a great importance for me xD

I'm glad you were pleased w/ most items <3

    1. Hi! I'm always happy to share my taobao finds with others and I'm happy you enjoyed the post. :) Mu Fish has so many cute designs, but I do wish they had more sizing options too. And thank you so much!

I was thinking about compiling a list of all the taobao stores I have bookmarked on my computer and organizing them by styles in a future post. Do you think that would be helpful for people?

    2. I love this idea! I recently was searching for this kind of list (well, I was searching for a Lolita Taobao store that sells OTK and accessories to be more precise xD) but the ones I found were quite old, so 2/3 of the links didn't work anymore. And maybe you could even link a review when you already reviewed the store ?

I think that could be a very helpful article :)

  3. Thank you for reviewing the petticoat! Almost all the taobao petticoat reviews are Classical Puppet or Dear Celine petticoats. Will give Aurora and Ariel petticoat a shot. :D

  5. Hi there, I would like to ask whether Mu fish's OTKs bleed colours when you wash them? DO the colours stain other parts of the OTKs? Because I saw one taobao review a girl complained about the bleeding of colours onto other parts of the OTK itself, and the picture she showed is really horrible bleeding
